Field Finance Specialist

About the role

WVIM, an organisation with 75 years of experience helping vulnerable children, is hiring a Field Finance Specialist. The role is full-time, fixed-term and reports to the Finance Manager. It ensures compliance with WVIM policies, local laws, accounting standards, financial reporting, budgeting and internal controls, and supports project and programme financial management, audits and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Review financial transactions and reports for accuracy and compliance with WVIM policies, local laws and donor requirements, and report violations to the AP manager or relevant management
• Verify documents provided by partners such as CBOs, NGOs and government entities receiving funding, and secure adequate documentation including vouchers for cash disbursements
• Contribute to preparing the AP budget and monitor AP expenses against the approved budget and chart of accounts, providing the cash position to the manager for funding requests
• Monitor financial documents, beneficiaries and vendors regularly
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and statutory financial reports on time, in consultation with the AP/Project Manager
• Train and coach field staff on financial policies and procedures, and give financial advice and analysis to the AP manager
• Communicate the organisation's strategic objectives clearly and support continuous learning of field staff

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a relevant field; CPA preferred
• Experience in finance, commercial institutions or an NGO in financial management/accounting preferred
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time
• Intermediate English is an advantage

Required skills
