Accountant

About the role

Gobi Khangai Mebel LLC, a Mongolia-based furniture company based in Ulaanbaatar, is hiring a full-time, on-site Accountant. The role covers day-to-day bookkeeping, financial reporting and support of the monthly and annual closing, working closely with internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day bookkeeping: record transactions, maintain general ledgers and reconcile bank and cash accounts.
• Prepare financial statements and support monthly and annual closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable and monitor budgets.
• Assist with audits and provide accurate financial reports for management decisions.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners, keep documentation organised and help improve financial controls and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional certification is an advantage.
• Prior experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in a commercial or manufacturing business.
• Understanding of Mongolian tax regulations, compliance requirements and audit processes.
• Attention to detail, strong numerical and analytical skills, and ability to identify discrepancies.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while keeping financial information confidential.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and bookkeeping.
• Experience with accounting software and proficiency in spreadsheets and other office productivity tools.
