Field Finance Specialist

About the role

World Vision is seeking a Field Finance Specialist to join its team in Ulaanbaatar. The role supports the organization’s mission to improve the lives of vulnerable children by ensuring financial compliance, accurate reporting, and effective budgeting across field operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate financial transactions and reports for compliance with World Vision policies, local regulations and donor requirements.
• Maintain complete documentation for all payments, vouchers and disbursements, and report any policy violations.
• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the field office budget, track expenses against the approved chart of accounts, and provide cash position updates for funding decisions.
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and statutory financial reports in coordination with project managers.
• Deliver training and refresher sessions to field staff on financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the Finance Manager to support decision‑making and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting and compliance within an international or humanitarian context.
• Strong understanding of local accounting standards, donor regulations and audit processes.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet reporting deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for training and advisory functions.
