Senior Associate in Tax Reporting and Strategy

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Senior Associate to join our Tax Reporting and Strategy team in Ulaanbaatar. You will help clients meet tax, accounting and payroll compliance obligations while navigating an evolving regulatory landscape, working closely with experienced professionals and leveraging technology to deliver high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage statutory tax, accounting and payroll compliance engagements for a diverse client portfolio.
• Prepare tax returns, calculations, reports and other regulatory filings accurately and on time.
• Assist clients with tax reporting requirements and liaise with tax, social insurance and other authorities.
• Conduct tax research, draft memoranda and client communications.
• Analyse legislative developments and assess their impact on clients.
• Support tax planning and risk‑management initiatives.
• Review and guide the work of junior team members.
• Utilise digital tools and technology solutions to improve service efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive, professional service.
• Produce work that meets professional, regulatory and firm standards while upholding the firm’s code of ethics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in tax compliance, accounting, payroll compliance or related advisory services.
• Good understanding of Mongolian tax regulations and reporting requirements.
• Experience preparing statutory tax and payroll filings.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mongolian.
• Attention to detail and a client‑focused mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with digital tax tools and ERP systems.
