Investment Officer – Private Sector Finance

About the role

As an Investment Officer, you will participate in the processing of ADB's private‑sector financing of financial‑institution projects and technical assistance. You will also establish new client relationships, maintain existing ones, and support government engagement in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and/or participate in processing projects, conducting due diligence, risk analysis, and structuring loans, equity investments, guarantees, or other assistance.
• Conduct credit and financial due diligence, develop financial models, assess risk and credit profiles, and review project documents.
• Analyze financial statements, perform sensitivity analysis and stress testing, and make recommendations.
• Participate in due‑diligence missions, provide technical support, and represent ADB in transactions with external advisors.
• Lead sector and country research for transaction risk assessment and collaborate with Risk Management and Safeguards specialists.
• Work with Treasury to facilitate local‑currency lending and prepare documentation for Investment Committee and Board meetings.
• Lead discussions with potential private‑sector and state‑owned financial institutions, identify and screen projects for developmental and commercial viability, and contribute to pipeline development.
• Liaise with governments to advocate and promote PSFI projects and support policy and strategy development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in management, finance or related fields; preferably with CFA qualification.
• Minimum 8 years of work experience, preferably in the financial sector.
• Deal origination experience in debt and equity transactions in Georgia and other regional countries.
• Proven ability to undertake research and analysis, collect and organize data, and prepare reports.
• Strong analytical thinking with ability to conduct pros/cons analysis and reach decisions.
• Ability to guide junior team members and work collaboratively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
