About the role
The Economist will work on‑site in Ulaanbaatar, providing economic research and analysis to support NOMIN Holding’s strategic decisions across its diversified business portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, interpret and model macro‑economic and sectoral data to produce forecasts and indicators.
- Prepare analytical reports, dashboards and presentations for senior management.
- Evaluate the economic impact of business initiatives, pricing, investment and risk decisions.
- Collaborate with finance, operations and executive teams to deliver evidence‑based recommendations.
- Monitor national and global economic trends, regulatory changes and industry developments relevant to the company.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Finance, Statistics or a related field; graduate degree preferred.
- Strong foundation in economics and macro‑economics, with experience in corporate or consulting environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Attention to detail, critical thinking and ability to work independently and in cross‑functional teams.
- Knowledge of the Mongolian economic context and regulatory environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Excel for data analysis.
- Experience using statistical software such as R, Stata or Python.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (advantage).
