Field Finance Specialist

About the role

World Vision is hiring a Field Finance Specialist in Ulaanbaatar, reporting to the Finance Manager. The role ensures compliance with World Vision's policies, local laws, accounting standards, financial reporting, budgeting and internal controls, and supports project and programme financial management, internal and external audits. It is a full-time position with a fixed-term local employee contract.

Key responsibilities

• Review financial transactions and reports for accuracy and compliance with policies, local laws and donor requirements, and report violations to the AP manager or management
• Verify partner documents (CBOs, NGOs, government entities) and secure adequate documentation, including vouchers for cash disbursements
• Contribute to the AP budget, monitor AP expenses against the approved budget and chart of accounts, and provide the cash position to the manager for funding requests
• Monitor financial documents, beneficiaries and vendors regularly
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and statutory financial reports on time, in consultation with the AP/Project Manager
• Train and coach field staff on financial policies and procedures, and give financial advice and analysis to the AP manager
• Support continuous learning of field staff on DPA, programme quality, humanitarian action and development, and contribute to policy, procedure and process development

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a relevant field
• Certified Public Accountant preferred
• Experience in finance, commercial institutions or an NGO in financial management/accounting preferred
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time
• Intermediate English is an advantage
