Senior Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Senior Maintenance Engineer will lead a team of internal and contractor engineers to support the underground maintenance function at Oyu Tolgoi. This position focuses on optimizing large‑scale, sustainable maintenance projects for underground infrastructure assets while ensuring safety and cost‑effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of Maintenance Engineers (OT and contractor) in delivering maintenance support.
• Plan and execute complex maintenance optimisation projects for underground infrastructure.
• Estimate engineering personnel needs and supervise engineers and technicians for outage improvement projects.
• Provide technical leadership and solve complex engineering problems.
• Evaluate cost‑benefit alternatives for timely repairs and conduct equipment failure investigations.
• Collaborate closely with other functional areas to achieve project objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of relevant maintenance experience or equivalent practical experience.
• Basic proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work on a 14‑day on / 14‑day off schedule at the Oyu Tolgoi site.
• Valid Category B driving licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP (medium level).
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
