Road Engineer – Design & Supervision (Ulaanbaatar)

About the role

The Road Engineer role is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. You will plan, design and supervise road and infrastructure projects while ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety regulations and environmental requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawings, specifications and engineering reports.
• Conduct site inspections, surveys and quality‑control checks.
• Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors and project managers.
• Monitor project progress, resolve technical issues and optimise designs for cost‑effectiveness and sustainability.
• Maintain project documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Required profile

• Strong background in road and highway design, geometric and pavement design aligned with national and international standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; professional certification or licence is a plus.
• Proven experience supervising construction, site inspection and quality control in road or infrastructure projects, preferably in Mongolia.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and contract documents and produce clear engineering reports.
