Internal Audit Manager

About the role

BDO Mongolia is looking for an Internal Audit Manager to lead and execute internal audit engagements in Ulaanbaatar. This is a full-time, on-site position involving planning, risk assessment, fieldwork and reporting. The role evaluates internal controls, reviews financial processes and checks compliance with policies, regulations and professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design audit programs and carry out internal audit engagements
• Evaluate internal controls, review financial processes and assess compliance with policies, regulations and professional standards
• Supervise and coach audit team members
• Present findings and recommendations to management and clients
• Monitor remediation of audit issues and help improve governance and risk management frameworks
• Support business development activities related to internal audit and advisory services

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field
• Hands-on experience conducting financial audits and internal audit engagements
• Experience designing, implementing and testing internal controls, and knowledge of control frameworks
• Ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders
• High ethical standards, attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality and independence
• Certifications such as CIA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent are highly beneficial

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including financial reporting and budgeting
• Familiarity with audit software, data analysis tools and MS Office applications
