Community Coordinator (Maternity Cover) – Bayanzurkh ADP

About the role

World Vision is hiring a Community Coordinator (maternity cover) for its Bayanzurkh Area Development Program, based in Ulaanbaatar. The post is a fixed-term, local contract and reports to the Bayanzurkh Area Development Program Manager. It acts as a catalyst and partnership broker, building the capacity of local partners and coordinating community-led initiatives that improve the well-being of children and their families. The role applies the Future Ready Sponsorship (FRS) approach, linking sponsorship processes with community work and child outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor the Area Development Program, prepare annual plans within the set timeline, use budgets according to World Vision policies and follow the Adaptive Program Approach and FRS approach.
• Keep the Most Vulnerable Children mapping up to date, track progress and mainstream child protection, gender-based issues, environmental considerations and conflict resolution.
• Review program quality with stakeholders and the community, and collect monitoring data with partners to adjust programs.
• Lead local advocacy initiatives aligned with World Vision Mongolia's priorities, including child protection, sanitation, campaigns and climate resilience.
• Document progress, learning and change stories in monthly, semi-annual and annual reports, and share AIM measurements and child results with partners.
• Manage child sponsorship: select and monitor children through the local Child Well-being Committee, handle case follow-up, run sponsor-child communications, plan sponsor visits and integrate sponsorship into annual plans.
• Maintain sponsorship systems and data, keeping child data and files secure in line with child protection standards.
• Communicate World Vision's mission and values, build relationships with local stakeholders and partner communities, and support the creation of community groups.
• Build the capacity of partners and the community through home visits, immersion in communities and work with host families.
