Area Sales Manager

About the role

JTI is looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead the sales and distribution activities within a defined geographical region. You will be responsible for driving product volume, managing a team of sales representatives, and collaborating closely with distributors and retail partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual, quarterly and weekly sales plans, setting clear targets for the team.
• Lead, coach and support Sales Representatives through regular meetings, field visits and performance feedback.
• Build strong relationships with retail partners and distributors, negotiate product placement and ensure full assortment availability.
• Implement trade programs, monitor compliance and oversee the placement of marketing materials.
• Track sales performance, distribution metrics and competitor activity, adjusting plans as needed.
• Ensure accurate reporting in internal systems and provide regular updates to management.
• Support onboarding, training and continuous development of the sales team.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of the tobacco market and FMCG sales/marketing principles.
• Proven analytical, negotiation and organisational abilities.
• Results‑driven mindset with high self‑motivation and adaptability.
• Ability to lead, coach and develop a team effectively.
• Valid Category B driving licence with at least one year of driving experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
