Advisor - Development & Block Cave Production

About the role

Dayan Contract Mining is looking for an Advisor to support Underground Mine Captains and Supervisors in delivering safe, consistent, and productive development and block cave production at the Oyu Tolgoi Mine Site. The role focuses on strengthening frontline leadership, crew effectiveness, and operational discipline through hands‑on coaching and mentoring.

Key responsibilities

• Support Mine Captains in leading underground development and production crews to meet safety and production targets.
• Provide practical coaching and mentoring on people leadership, performance management, and crew accountability.
• Assist in achieving development advance and production goals by applying block cave mining best practices.
• Enhance operational discipline, crew performance, and sustainable outcomes across development and production activities.
• Identify capability gaps that could affect schedules, production, or safety and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with competency, authorizations, and safety standards.
• Escalate emerging people or capability risks to senior leadership as needed.

Required profile

• Degree in Mining Engineering with a professional designation or equivalent trade qualification.
• Extensive underground mining and planning experience.
• Proven ability to coach and develop frontline leaders in a mining environment.
• Strong understanding of block cave mining operations and safety requirements.
