Chief Accountant (Russian & Mongolian Required)

About the role

A newly established fuel supply company in Mongolia is recruiting a Chief Accountant through its recruiter BRICS Prof. The role combines hands-on accounting with broader financial management, building accounting and financial processes from scratch while working directly with management and international shareholders. An additional accountant is expected to join as the business grows.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and manage accounting processes, policies and internal controls, ensuring compliance with Mongolian accounting and tax legislation.
• Manage tax calculations, filings and payments, including VAT, corporate income tax, excise duties and payroll taxes.
• Prepare statutory and IFRS financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Oversee cash flow, banking operations, accounts payable and receivable.
• Handle accounting for fuel purchases, imports, inventory and customs-related costs.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and cost control.
• Coordinate external audits and tax inspections, and help select and implement accounting software.
• Provide financial reporting and analytical support to management and international shareholders.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent statutory qualifications.
• At least 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, including as a Chief Accountant, Finance Manager or Financial Controller.
• Strong knowledge of Mongolian accounting standards, tax legislation and statutory reporting.
• Professional working proficiency in both Russian and Mongolian.
• Nice to have: experience in international companies, fuel trading, oil & gas, logistics or import/export; experience setting up accounting and financial processes from scratch; CPA, ACCA or other professional qualifications.

Required skills

• Practical experience with IFRS, financial reporting and budgeting.
• Experience with Mongolian tax authorities and external auditors.
• Accounting software used in Mongolia and advanced MS Excel.
