East Area Development Program Manager

About the role

The East Area Development Program Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight for integrated development programmes across the East Region of Mongolia. Reporting to the Operations Director and based in Khentii province, the role ensures that programmes are designed, implemented, monitored and adapted in line with World Vision Mongolia’s strategy and the Future Ready Sponsorship (FRS) model.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, monitoring and learning of multi‑sectoral programmes covering child well‑being, protection, education, livelihoods, resilience, disaster risk reduction and GEDSI principles.
• Drive FRS implementation by strengthening sponsorship integration, community engagement and evidence‑based decision‑making using the Adaptive Programming Approach.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with government, donors, sponsors, communities and other stakeholders.
• Provide leadership for staff recruitment, performance management, coaching and professional development.
• Ensure resource stewardship, accountability and alignment with World Vision’s core values of being Christ‑centred, child‑focused and community‑empowering.
• Contribute to strategic planning, issue‑based project development and alignment of child sponsorship initiatives with global strategic priorities.

Required profile

• Significant experience in managing complex development programmes in humanitarian or international development settings.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and foster a culture of learning and adaptive management.
• Strong understanding of child protection, GEDSI, and disaster risk reduction concepts.
• Excellent partnership‑building and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Commitment to World Vision’s Christian values and ability to model Christ‑centred leadership.
