Operations Manager

About the role

SPAR Mongolia is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of multiple retail stores, support new store openings and drive operational excellence across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day operations of multiple retail stores.
• Ensure compliance with SPAR operational standards, policies and procedures.
• Monitor store performance and operational KPIs and implement improvement actions.
• Lead operational activities for new store openings, including store readiness, opening checklists, trial openings and post‑opening stabilization.
• Develop and implement SOPs, operational workflows, routines and audit checklists.
• Monitor sales, profitability, labor productivity and operational efficiency.
• Ensure high standards of merchandising, pricing, food safety, hygiene, HACCP and inventory management.
• Monitor stock availability, inventory accuracy, shrinkage and waste, and implement corrective actions.
• Coach and develop Store Managers and operations teams.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, IT and Project teams.
• Prepare operational reports and monitor KPI performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of retail operations management experience.
• Proven experience managing multiple retail stores.
• Experience leading new store openings.
• Strong knowledge of retail operations, KPIs and operational standards.
• Experience developing SOPs and operational processes.
• Strong leadership, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and team management skills.
• Fluent English (required); Russian language skills considered an advantage.
