Head of Legal Department

About the role

Setunari Group is seeking a senior legal professional to lead its Legal department in Ulaanbaatar. The Head of Legal will provide strategic guidance to senior leadership, manage legal risk, and ensure compliance across the group’s health and infrastructure businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all legal affairs of the group, including corporate, commercial and regulatory matters.
• Review, draft and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
• Provide strategic legal advice to senior executives and business units.
• Coordinate with external counsel when specialized expertise is required.
• Develop and implement legal policies, procedures and compliance programs.
• Support dispute resolution, negotiations and litigation management.
• Conduct legal training and awareness sessions for internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Law degree with strong foundation in legal principles; bar admission or professional qualification is highly desirable.
• Several years of progressive legal experience, preferably in corporate or group environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in legal compliance and interpretation of Mongolian laws and regulations.
• Proven leadership ability to manage legal teams or projects and work cross‑functionally.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills in Mongolian; ability to work with English‑language documents is an advantage.
• High ethical standards and ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
