Business Development Specialist

About the role

The Business Development Specialist will work on-site in Ulaanbaatar, driving new business opportunities and supporting growth initiatives for MERA Group, a leading Mongolian mining services provider.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market research and identify prospective clients in the mining and industrial services sectors.
• Generate, qualify, and nurture leads, preparing proposals and presentations tailored to client needs.
• Coordinate with internal teams—including operations, marketing, and leadership—to develop customized service offerings.
• Maintain regular communication with existing and potential clients, managing expectations and building long‑term relationships.
• Track sales pipelines, analyse performance data, and provide insights to improve business outcomes.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure high‑quality service delivery that meets market demand.

Required profile

• Strong written Mongolian language skills for contracts and official correspondence.
• Analytical ability to evaluate market trends, assess opportunities, and interpret sales data.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service capabilities for managing Mongolian and Chinese client relationships.
• Experience in lead generation, market research, and business development within mining, industrial services, or related sectors.
• Proven negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Mining Engineering or related field; familiarity with the Mongolian mining industry is a plus.
• Proficiency with office and CRM software, strong organisational skills, and willingness to work on‑site in Ulaanbaatar.
