Field Officer – Disaster Risk Reduction (Uvs Province)

About the role

World Vision seeks a Field Officer to implement Disaster Risk Reduction, Anticipatory Action and resilience‑building activities in Uvs province, Mongolia. The role supports community preparedness, ensures quality project delivery and integrates safeguarding and GEDSI principles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute province‑level operational plans, including risk mitigation and budget allocation.
• Conduct Community Participatory Disaster Risk Assessments and support communities in updating preparedness plans.
• Facilitate training on the “Be Ready” module, school safety frameworks and junior rescuer clubs.
• Coordinate Anticipatory Action interventions, procurement, logistics and distribution of project assets.
• Monitor community conditions, hazard events and project performance, producing timely reports and alerts.
• Establish community‑based accountability mechanisms and manage regular field monitoring visits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Disaster Risk Management, Climate Change Adaptation, Environmental Science, Development Studies, Project Management or Social Sciences.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive project management experience in humanitarian, DRR or climate adaptation projects.
• Proven experience managing budgets, procurement and donor reporting.
• Intermediate or upper‑intermediate English and willingness to travel up to 40 % of working time to remote, disaster‑prone areas.
