Head of English – International School in Ulaanbaatar

About the role

m2r Education are proud to be working with a leading British International School in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, who are looking for an experienced Head of English to join their school for the new academic year. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced English specialist to take on a key subject leadership role within a well‑established international school, leading the English department and contributing to the continued development of teaching and learning across the school.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the English department.
• Ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
• Support and mentor colleagues.
• Develop the curriculum and oversee assessment.
• Monitor student outcomes and drive improvement.

Required profile

• Subject‑related Bachelors Degree plus PGCE and QTS or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ teaching experience in English Literature and Language.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Head of Department or similar leadership role.
• Experience teaching English at GCSE level (essential) and KS5/A‑Level (desirable).
• Strong knowledge of the Cambridge International Curriculum.
• Proven track record of leading and developing an English department.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve strong student outcomes.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on staff development.
