Superintendent CHPP Long Term Planning

About the role

Thiess is looking for an experienced Superintendent CHPP Long Term Planning to lead maintenance scheduling and planning for the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) on the Mongolia Project, ensuring maximum equipment availability and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and plan maintenance for all fixed plant equipment to OEM specifications and Thiess standards.
• Coach, train and up‑skill the national workforce.
• Prepare, review and maintain rolling monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance plans and equipment specification tracking files.
• Maintain accurate equipment maintenance history, job records and technical information.
• Identify potential work through condition monitoring and calendar‑based programs, supporting the client’s planning manager.
• Provide advice on maintenance strategies to maximise production, minimise costs and meet plant scorecard targets.
• Align defect and emergency work with periodic maintenance and report weekly updates.
• Manage budget and resources, using subcontractors cost‑effectively.
• Utilise predictive maintenance processes to raise work requests and organise additional maintenance.
• Liaise with CHPP, mining and maintenance departments to minimise operational interruptions.

Required profile

• Mechanical Trade Certificate or Engineering Qualification.
• Experience operating CHPP or concentrators in a mining environment.
• Knowledge of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with financial and maintenance software packages.
