Senior Project Engineer

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned civil‑construction work packages, including earthworks, roads, drainage, foundations, reinforced concrete, structural steel, buildings, utilities and associated interfaces.
• Review design criteria, calculations, drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and construction methodologies for technical adequacy, constructability, operability and compliance; consolidate comments and drive timely close‑out.
• Coordinate civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, geotechnical, survey and process interfaces; identify clashes, scope gaps and design changes before they affect construction.
• Prepare and maintain scopes of work, technical specifications, tender clarifications, bid evaluations, engineering registers, work‑front plans and technical inputs to contracts and procurement packages.
• Verify construction readiness, including approved IFC drawings, permits, method statements, risk assessments, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), survey controls, materials, resources and access.
• Provide day‑to‑day site engineering leadership; supervise contractors, coordinate inspections, resolve RFIs and technical queries, and ensure work conforms to approved documents and hold/witness points.
• Control civil quality assurance and quality control, including material approvals, concrete and soil test results, compaction records, weld/NDT records where relevant, NCRs, punch lists, as‑built drawings and turnover dossiers.
• Monitor quantities, productivity, physical progress, schedule, forecast cost and contractor performance; verify measurements and provide technical support for payment claims and variations.
• Identify and manage technical, construction, permafrost/geotechnical, weather, logistics, safety, environmental and interface risks; escalate material issues with recommended actions.
• Ensure compliance with Mongolian laws, construction norms and standards, approved permits, company requirements and applicable international standards.
• Lead civil completion, pre‑commissioning support, handover, defect rectification and contract close‑out; confirm that records are complete and assets are fit for purpose.
• Mentor Project Engineers and site supervisors, assign priorities, review deliverables and promote disciplined communication and document control.
