Quality Manager – Diesel Engine Overhaul

About the role

Cummins Mongolia is looking for a Quality Manager for its Master Rebuild Center. The role establishes, implements and continuously improves the Quality Management System (QMS) so that all overhauled diesel engines meet Cummins Global quality standards, industry specifications and customer requirements. The manager leads the quality team, drives end-to-end process quality control, reduces quality costs and ensures compliance across all workshop operations.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the QMS in line with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, TS 16949 and AIAG core tool requirements, and lead internal and external audits and non-conformity closure.
• Develop quality manuals, procedures and work instructions, run management reviews and track regulatory and standards updates.
• Control quality across the overhaul lifecycle (IQC, IPQC, OQC, performance testing) and set inspection standards, control plans and quality targets.
• Use SPC and MSA to monitor process stability, and manage laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Resolve defects, material non-conformities and customer complaints using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone Diagram and PFMEA, and drive COQ analysis, Six Sigma and QCC initiatives.
• Hold regular quality review meetings on PPM, first-pass yield and complaint rate, and build and train the quality team (engineers and inspectors).
• Work with Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement and Supply Chain, and act as the main link between global quality teams and local customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Internal Combustion Engine Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Management or a related field.
• 8+ years of quality management experience in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a people management role.
• Prior experience in diesel engine overhaul, automotive components or heavy industry is strongly preferred.
