Mining Commodities Trading Specialist

About the role

This position is responsible for building and managing a mining commodities exchange brokerage in Mongolia. You will start by executing trades independently and later develop a dedicated trading team, driving growth in the client portfolio and revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily mining commodities trades (coal, iron ore, etc.) ensuring timely order fulfillment.
• Monitor market data, supply‑demand trends, logistics and customs information to inform trading decisions.
• Manage trading positions and risk within established limits.
• Ensure accuracy of trade settlements, payments and documentation.
• Develop and maintain relationships with mining companies, exporters and buyers; negotiate and monitor contracts.
• Provide clients with market intelligence, trading options and advisory support.
• Prepare regular performance, revenue and client activity reports for management.
• Design procedures, workflows and gradually build a trading team.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and exchange rules.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, economics, business administration or a related field.
• Experience in capital markets, brokerage, dealing, analysis, investment or underwriting.
• Hands‑on trading, contract negotiation and direct client engagement experience.
• Advanced proficiency in English (or Chinese) and strong analytical abilities.
• Proactive, reliable and collaborative mindset with a drive to build a new business function.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Confidence working with trading systems/platforms.
