International Consultant for UNSDCF Design & Development (Mongolia)

About the role

The United Nations Resident Coordinator System is seeking an International Consultant to support the design and development of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2028‑2032 for Mongolia. The consultant will work remotely, with a brief in‑country mission, providing strategic planning, facilitation and technical drafting support to the UN Country Team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the strategic prioritisation process, ensuring alignment with national priorities and UN standards.
• Facilitate the development of the Theory of Change and the Results Framework.
• Draft, review and refine the UNSDCF narrative and related documentation.
• Coordinate with the UNCT, CF Task Force and other stakeholders throughout the design phase (Sept 2026‑July 2027).
• Provide evidence‑based analysis and incorporate gender equality, disability inclusion, youth engagement and climate resilience considerations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in UN development coordination or similar multilateral development projects.
• Strong background in strategic planning, results‑based management and facilitation of multi‑stakeholder processes.
• Deep understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals, national development challenges and the UN’s UNSDCF methodology.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.
