Senior Site Supervisor - Underground (UG)

About the role

The Senior Site Supervisor plays a key leadership role in managing onsite Orica teams and partnering closely with the Territory Manager to drive safe, efficient and reliable daily operations. The role guides and develops the team, ensures a safe and well-run operation, and takes accountability for site outcomes by managing resources and costs while applying Orica's operational, safety and compliance standards. It is based at Oyu Tolgoi on a FIFO roster of 28 days on and 14 days off.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Sprint Lead with analysis and decisions, driving continuous improvement to reduce operating costs and improve site performance
• Contribute to short, medium and long-term plans, meet fixed cost budgets and support capital, resourcing and equipment needs
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and corporate requirements through audits, inspections, safety meetings, inventory counts, Letters of Assurance and action tracking
• Lead, develop and supervise employees, manage training plans and ensure mandatory training is completed and documented
• Maintain operational discipline through housekeeping, record keeping, preventative maintenance and compliant inventory and raw material management
• Optimize profitability by managing inventories, improving stock rotation and minimizing excess product and waste
• Coordinate daily operations and customer delivery by scheduling work, ordering materials, resolving issues with the Sprint Lead and leading regulatory audits and improvement actions

Required profile

• At least 10 years of accumulated experience in underground operations, mine planning, engineering and drill & blast
• Proven track record of leading, developing and motivating diverse operational teams
• International exposure preferred, including expat or overseas assignments, and comfort working with global stakeholders and expats
• Clear, confident oral and written communication
