Legal AI Journalist & Research Associate

About the role

LEXTAGE is an independent legal media platform founded in Mongolia, covering law, justice, public policy, artificial intelligence and the future of legal practice. It is looking for its first Legal AI Journalist & Research Associate, a curious and proactive person who wants to explore the intersection of law, journalism and AI. You will work directly with the founder, discover important legal stories, interview professionals, attend events and produce original editorial content using modern AI tools.

Key responsibilities

• Scout and report on Mongolian and international legal news, court decisions, legislative developments, legal AI and legal technology.
• Attend conferences, public discussions and legal events, and interview lawyers, judges, researchers and industry professionals.
• Research and write content for LEXTAGE Weekly, AI Desk, Perspective | 3Q, Court Watch and other editorial formats.
• Use AI tools for research assistance, transcription, translation, drafting and content production, while independently verifying sources and keeping editorial standards.
• Prepare articles, news briefs, interview features and multimedia content for LEXTAGE's digital platforms.
• Explore AI-powered journalism workflows and contribute ideas for new editorial projects.

Required profile

• A law student, recent graduate, junior lawyer, journalist or candidate from a related field.
• Strong interest in law, journalism, technology and artificial intelligence.
• Good communication skills in Mongolian and English.
• Confidence approaching professionals, asking questions and conducting interviews.
• Initiative, creativity, curiosity and the ability to work independently.
• Previous journalism experience is an advantage, not required.

Required skills

• Practical experience with ChatGPT, Claude or similar AI tools, or a strong willingness to learn them.
• Strong research, writing, critical thinking and fact-checking skills.
