Underground Superintendent – Ventilation

About the role

Join the Oyu Tolgoi underground mining team as a Superintendent Ventilation and lead a dedicated group of 20 professionals. You will be responsible for the design, implementation and continuous monitoring of ventilation systems that keep the underground environment safe and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the ventilation team, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
• Develop, review and update the ventilation management plan in line with regulatory requirements.
• Produce and maintain LOM (Life‑of‑Mine) ventilation schedules using Deswik.
• Create and validate ventilation models with Ventsim.
• Design and optimise ventilation infrastructure, including fans, ducts and monitoring systems.
• Conduct ventilation assessments and integrate short‑ and long‑term strategies with mining schedules.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in underground mine ventilation, preferably at a senior supervisory level.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a FIFO environment.
• Strong understanding of mining regulations and safety standards.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Ventilation system design and optimisation.
• Proficiency with Deswik scheduling software.
• Experience using Ventsim for ventilation modelling.
• Design of fans, ductwork and monitoring equipment.
