Conservation and Planning Coordinator

About the role

The Conservation and Planning Coordinator will drive the implementation of the Eternal Mongolia Project Finance for Permanence (PFP), supporting conservation strategy, protected‑area management, sustainable financing and community development across Mongolia’s grasslands.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning, annual work‑plan formulation, budgeting and procurement in coordination with TNC, PFP global partners and local stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance on the PFP Implementation Plan, ensuring alignment with conservation and community development goals.
• Support BU teams in accessing Mongolian Nature’s Legacy Foundation (MNLF) grants and align them with TNC expertise.
• Assist MNLF and the Project Coordination Unit (PCU) in developing medium‑term and annual work plans, monitoring‑and‑evaluation frameworks, and reviewing budgets.
• Collaborate with government agencies, regional offices, and other conservation organizations to integrate local inputs into project execution.
• Support the PFP Director in overseeing project implementation, monitoring progress, and reporting on milestones.

Required profile

• Proven experience in conservation planning, protected‑area management, or related environmental projects.
• Strong ability to coordinate multi‑stakeholder initiatives, including government bodies and NGOs.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills, with a focus on integrating technical and community perspectives.
• Experience working in or with Mongolia’s environmental sector is a plus.
