Senior Manager – Compliance (Mining)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Manager – Compliance to lead the compliance function for Oyu Tolgoi, a world‑class copper operation in Ulaanbaatar. Reporting to the Chief Legal Counsel, you will be the principal adviser on bribery, corruption, fraud and broader business‑integrity risks, ensuring alignment with Rio Tinto Group standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the Oyu Tolgoi Compliance team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Implement, operate and continuously improve the Business Integrity Compliance Program (BICP), monitoring effectiveness of processes, systems and controls.
• Provide independent advice and constructive challenge to senior leaders on integrity risks.
• Partner with Rio Tinto Ethics & Compliance and Legal & Governance to align with group priorities.
• Oversee third‑party due diligence, conflicts of interest, benefits, sponsorships, donations and business‑integrity declarations.
• Develop and execute the annual BICP strategy, risk priorities and communication plan, including training and awareness programmes.
• Collaborate with investigation specialists on significant fraud, misconduct and Code of Conduct matters.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in compliance, anti‑corruption or business‑integrity roles, preferably in a mining or large‑scale industrial environment.
• Proven leadership capability with experience building and managing high‑performing teams.
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to influence senior stakeholders across cultures.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, health and wellbeing.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of anti‑bribery and anti‑corruption regulations.
• Experience with third‑party due diligence and risk‑mitigation frameworks.
• Ability to design and deliver compliance training and awareness programmes.
