Construction Delivery Engineer – Principal Advisor

About the role

Oyu Tolgoi is seeking an experienced Underground Construction Principal Advisor to join its Underground Operations Team. Based in Ulaanbaatar and working on a FIFO roster, you will partner with the Underground Construction Manager to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of critical underground infrastructure for one of the world’s largest copper‑gold mines.

Key responsibilities

• Work back‑to‑back with the Underground Construction Manager, providing consistent leadership, decision‑making and continuity across rotations.
• Plan, coordinate and execute underground construction priorities, overseeing production infrastructure, roadways, dewatering stations, structural steel installations and related systems.
• Provide senior technical and construction oversight for complex underground scopes.
• Mentor and develop national superintendents, supervisors and emerging leaders, strengthening their capability to own construction activities.
• Support national leaders in safety leadership, contractor management, communication and project delivery.
• Maintain visible field leadership, enforce Life‑Saving Fatality (LIF) controls, manage critical risks and promote safe work practices.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in underground construction within the mining sector.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop local talent.
• Strong safety orientation and experience enforcing LIF controls.
• Willingness to work a FIFO schedule (e.g., 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off).
